Ministerial Order No. 27/2021 approving the Regulation of the Institution of Almonds of Mozambique (IAM, IP).

This Ministerial Order approves the Regulation of the Institution of Almonds of Mozambique (IAM, IP). The Regulation, consisting of 71 articles divided into six Chapters, establishes the principles of the organization and functioning of the IAM, IP, which is governed by Decree No. 50/2020 of 1 July, creating the IAM, IP. In particular, the Institution is responsible for: a) promote the marketing, processing, industrialization and export of almonds; b) oversee the activities of development, production, marketing, processing, industrialization and export of almonds; c) prepare and implement, in coordination with specialized national and international institutions, research and transfer of technologies for production, processing and industrialization of almonds; d) analyse and decide on the pertinence of introducing seeds, plants or seedlings almonds in the country; e) promote producer awareness programmes on measures to control pests and diseases, prevent and combat uncontrolled fires; f) classify technological quality of almonds for commercialization inside and outside the country; g) ensure compliance with technical standards for production, soil conservation and environmental protection relating to the cultivation and industrialization of almonds; h) coordinate actions with stakeholders in the almond value chain in the areas of production, marketing, processing, industrialization and export, etc.
