Abstract
This Resolution, consisting of 28 articles divided into five Chapters, approves the Statute of the National Institution of Mining (INAMI), created by Law No. 20/2014. It establishes composition, duties and responsibilities of the above mentioned institution, responsible for the guidelines to participating in this sector; public and private research; exploration; processing; export and import of mineral products and their derivatives. In addition, it specifies structure and functions of the units, income and expenses and staff. The Institution is the competent authority for: proposing development policies in the mining sector; approving projects, technical and economic studies for the opening of new mines; allocating exploration and research licenses, mining concessions and mineral water concessions, under the mining legislation; controlling the research and extraction, use and exploitation of mineral resources, excluding oil and gas, etc.
