Abstract
This Ordinance regulates fishing in the Islands of Guernsey and in the territorial waters. It also provides for control of deposit of aquatic animals and the control of discharge of effluent water and restricts the exportation of fish.
The States Sea Fisheries Committee may prescribe fish and designate prohibited fishing areas for purposes of this Ordinance. The Ordinance regulates a variety of matters including use of gear, seasons, landing and sale of lobster tails, restriction of trawling and control of importation of fish for purposes of disease control. No person shall, except under the authority of and in accordance with the conditions of a licence of the Committee, deposit within territorial waters or on the foreshore any type of aquatic animal or plant or discharge any effluent water in which aquatic animals or plants have been placed.
