Abstract
This Act regulates the production and marketing of grapes and fruits utilised for the production of wine and brandy and other related products. The text consists of 44 articles divided into 8 Parts as following: General Provisions (1); Production (2); Quality Control (3); Appellation of Origin (4); Trade (5); Inspection (6); Offences (7) and Transitional and Final provisions (8). The text prescribes quality requirements for various kinds of wine and brandy. It sets out requirements for the production of wine and brandy and other issues such as added substances, production place, hygienic requirements of containers, registration of wine producers, grape-gathering record keeping, etc. The containers for wine and brandy shall contain the declaration as regards the name of product, year of production, alcohol percentage, place of origin and quality control certificate. The supervision of this Act is entrusted to the Ministry of Agriculture.
