Abstract
This Law regulates various aspects of the production and sales of wine which include: winemaking practices, classification and labelling, wine-production potential, documentation of wine industry activities and duties of enforcement agencies/inspections.
The Law aims to combat wine fraud, by means of regulated protected designations of origin, labelling practices and classification of wine, and to regulate allowed additives and procedures in winemaking and viticulture.
The Law further provides for: agrotechnical measures and production of grapes; methods of registration into the Vineyard Register; production of grape must, wine and other products; quality control and organoleptic testing; conditions for wine marketing; functions of agricultural inspectors; offences and penalties; etc.
