Abstract
This Act, among other things sets out the procedures and methods to enable the prior consideration of environmental impact assessment on certain public or private projects. The Act also gives specific powers to the Federal Environmental Protection Agency to facilitate environmental assessment on the projects. The text consists of 64 sections divided into 3 Parts: General principles of environmental impact assessment (I); Environmental assessment of projects (II); Miscellaneous (III). The Schedule lists mandatory study activities including agriculture, irrigation and drainage and fisheries.
