Abstract
This Decree, in compliance with the provisions of the Regulation (EU) 2016/429 of the European Parliament and of the Council of 9 March 2016 on communicable animal diseases, and implementing provisions of the Animals Act, provides for the prevention and control of animal diseases. The Decree concerns: designation of an animal as suspected of infection with an animal disease or zoonosis; designation of an animal as infected and contaminated; implementation of monitoring programmes by designated laboratories; general and specific instructions issued by the Minister to a designated laboratory; obligation of the operator to cooperate, by taking samples of the animals, carcasses, parts of animals or animal products; valuation of disease control measures; calibration point for valuation of animals, products, and objects; valuation of animals, products and objects; compensation for damage per animal; professional competence requirements for experts; animal health levy and tax liability.
