Abstract
This Decree, consisting of 71 articles and based on the provisions of the Commodities Act, the Drinking Water Act and the Plant Protection Products and Biocides Act, provides for the implementation of Council Directive 2013/51/EURATOM of 22 October 2013 laying down rules for the protection of public health against radioactive substances in water intended for human consumption. The Decree defines the following topics: biocide; chemicals into contact with water or drinking water; hazard to public health; rainwater; domestic water supply; quality management system; monitoring; emergency water risk analysis; risk assessment and risk management of the water supply system. The Decree concerns: production, distribution and use of domestic water, in the interest of public health; tariffs and determination of equity share; drinking water quality control; definition of standards; storage and distribution of drinking water; investigations and remedial actions by the owner of a drinking water company, in case of non-compliance with the quality requirements; measures to prevent legionella contamination; emergency drinking water supply.
