Abstract
This Decree declares Council Regulation (EC) No. 1/2005 on the protection of animals during transport and related operations and amending Directives 64/432/EEC and 93/119/EC and Regulation (EC) No. 1255/97 with adjustments as are specified in the EEA Agreement to apply to Norway and declares the provisions of the Council to prevail over Norwegian legislation, notably Decree No. 384 of 2001 and Decree No. 193 of 1997. The Norwegian Food Safety Agency may grant exemptions on rules imposed by the Council Regulation.
