Decree No. 1228 of 2010 relative to duty of Norwegian fishing and hunting vessels to listen to radiosignals (canal 16) and to answer to radio calls.

This Decree of the Department of Fisheries and Coast Protection concerns duties regarding communication of all Norwegian fishing and hunting vessels wherever they are and foreign vessels operating in the Norwegian economic zone, the fisheries zone of Jan Mayen, the fisheries protection zone of Svalbard and the territorial and inner waters of Svalbard. The vessels concerned shall keep constant radio contact with the Coast Protection Guard and fisheries control authorities as indicated by Chapter 7 of the Marine Living Resources Act.
