Abstract
This Decree regulates fishing in the year 2009 by vessels of Greenland north of the 62nd parallel between 12 and 200 nautical miles zone calculated from the baseline. The vessels concerned may catch in all 1.8625 tons of Norwegian arctic cod, 360 tons of Arctic haddock, 730 tons of arctic coalfish and 150 tons of other species as bycatch including Greenland halibut and red fishes. The percentage of bycatch of Greenland halibut may not be more than 7 percent of the total catch and the percentage of redfish may not be more than 15 percent of the total catch. A further 925 tons of coalfish may be fished in the area south of 62° N in the area between 12 and 200 nautical miles of the baseline. It shall be prohibited to fish with cod trawl (135 mesh size) or fishing for argentines or blue whiting with small-meshed trawl nets in specified areas.
