Abstract
This Decree prohibits in principal fishing for shrimps in specified marine areas south of the 62nd parallel by Norwegian vessels. Section 3, however, establishes a maximum of allowable catch for Norwegian vessels of 3.310 tons for the North Sea and 4.730 tons in the Skagerrak distributed over specified periods. The vessels allowed to participate shall be registered in the Vessel Marks Register and the captain and owner of the vessel shall be included in the Fishermen's Census. Vessels over 11 meters of length may participate in fishing for shrimps if they have landed shrimps in the North Sea and the Skagerrak in the years 1999, 2000, and 2001 (sect. 4). Sections 5 and 6, and 7 concern transfer of quotas or vessels for various reasons. Section 3 specifies quotas for single vessels which shall be caught in specified periods of the year. The Director of Fisheries may stop fishing if quotas are exhausted. (13 sections)
