Decree No. 1592 of 2009 to regulate fishing of red fishes in the fisheries protection zone of Svalbard.

This Decree applies to all fishing for red fishes by Norwegian and foreign vessels in the fisheries protection zone of Svalbard. Bycatch of 15 percent is allowed in fishing and landing of aother fish species. Infringement of this rule shall be punished in accordance with sections 8 and 9 of the Act relating to the Economic Zone of Norway and sections 61, 64 and 65 of the Marine Living Resources Act. Attempt to fish or collaboration in fishing shall be considered punishable as if it where fishing.
