Abstract
This Decree prohibits in principle fishing in 2011 by vessels flying the flag of one of the member States of the European Union in fisheries zone of Jan Mayen and the EEZ. The Decree is divided into 4 Chapters: General provisions (1); Fishing in the Norwegian Economic Zone north of the 62nd parallel (2); Fishing in the Norwegian Economic zone south of the 62nd parallel (3); General provisions (4);
The Decree specifies total allowable catch for various fish species including herring, cod, haddock, mackerel, and coalfish and for each of the areas. It also gives percentages of allowed bycatch and places also some other restrictions on fishing i.e. requirements regarding mesh size and gear to be used for specified species.
