Abstract
This Decree applies the Northwest Atlantic Fisheries Organization areas as described in section 1. The Decree prohibits in general fishing for and landing of shrimps by Norwegian vessels in the areas described. Section 3, however, allows fishing by Norwegian vessels in area 3L for 144 tons of shrimp, and section 4 allows to fish by 32 vessels in the NAFO sub-area 3M in 2003 for a total of 1.985 fishing days. Section 7 prohibits fishing without a licence to be issued by the Director of Fisheries and outlines the conditions of such licence. One of the criteria for a licence prescribed in section 7 is that satellite tracing systems shall be installed and tested before fishing starts. Another criterium regards observers on board. Section 8 places limits on the total of fishing days after which the Director of Fisheries may order a stop on fishing. Vessels shall observe the rules established by the Northwest Atlantic Fisheries Organization. (12 sections)
