Abstract
The Decree prohibits in general any fishing for and landing of blue whiting by Norwegian vessels. Excepted from the prohibition are: 120.000 tons by trawlers in ICES statistics areas IIa, IVa, VIa north of 56 30' N, VIb and VII west of 12 (of which 40.000 tons in area IVA) and 36.200 in the fisheries zone of the Faeroe Islands. Blue whiting may be caught by vessels with an industrial license pursuant to Decree No. 2185 of 1986 in the EEZ of Norway and its maritime waters south of 64 . The Director of Fisheries may establish single vessel quotas and order a stop on fishing on reaching of the total allowable catch or single vessel quotas. (7 articles)
