Decree No. 726 of 1996 to regulate fishing for shrimps in fishery protection zones around Svalbard.

Vessels flying the flag of countries which have traditionally fished for shrimps in the fisheries protection zones around Svalbard and the territorial waters and internal waters of Svalbard may fish for shrimp in fisheries protection zones around Svalbard. Included are vessels from Canada, Estonia, Lithuania, Faeroe Islands, Greenland, Iceland, the European Union, the Russian Federation, and Norway. Total allowable catch shall be established temporarily for each country separately. The penal provisions contained in Act No. 91 of 1976 establishing the Norwegian economic zone shall apply to fishing regulated by the present Decree. (4 sections)
