Abstract
This Regulation prohibits fishing and hunting by vessels flying the flag of EU Member States in the Economic Zone and the fishery zone around Jan Mayen between 12 and 200 nautical miles from the baselines. Notwithstanding the prohibition, such vessels are permitted to fish specified quantities in the Norwegian economic zone north of 62 N between 12 and 200 nautical miles from the baselines: a) 21 518 tons of cod, b) 1 100 tons of haddock, c) 2 550 tons of saithe, d) 11 687 tons of mackerel in ICES area 2a or 4a, e) 1 500 tons of redfish, f) 50 tons of Greenland halibut as bycatch (g) 350 tons of other species as bycatch. Chapter 3 lists authorized marine fish total allowable catch in the Norwegian economic zone north of 62 N. This is specified for spring spawning herring, blue whiting. Certain quotas of bycatch are specified. Quotas for fishing south of 62 N are a) 21,236 tons cod b) 16,804 tons haddock c) 58,524 tons saithe d) 10 821 tons whiting e) 47 868 tons of plaice (f) 50 000 tons of herring (g) 21 494 tons of mackerel h) 200 tons of shrimp i) 1700 tons of monkfish j) 600 tons of sea crabs k) 170 tons tusk l) 1 350 tons blue ling (m) 11 000 tons of other species.
