Abstract
This Regulation sets fishing vessel quota calculation factors when fishing in the North Sea. In article 1 the Regulation sets provisions on small purse seine equipped vessels, which may use factor 1.82. Of the total vessel quota a maximum authorized catch is calculated on the basis of a 0.75 fished in EU waters in ICES statistical area IVa and IVb x. When calculating the maximum quota in Skagerrak for small purse seiners, factor to be use is 0.5. In article 2, calculation quotas for vessels equipped with purse license should use factor 2.49 in the North Sea. Of this total calculation is on the basis of a partial quota factor of 1.15 for fishing in EU waters in ICES statistical area IVa and IVb. When calculating maximum quota in Skagerrak for vessels with purse seine license the factor applied is 0.5. In art. 3, calculation for vessels with pelagic trawl permit or North Sea trawling license shall apply factor 0.79 in the North Sea. Of the total vessel quota the partial factor is 0.36 for fishing in EU waters in ICES statistical area IVa and IVb.
