Abstract
The present Regulation contains 29 Articles and applies to agricultural and aquaculture products which mention organic production in their labeling and/or advertising. It applies to every phase of production, processing, distribution, sales and import from countries outside the EEA area of such products. It applies to: a) live and unprocessed agricultural and aquaculture products; b) processed products for food or feed; c) vegetative propagation material; d) seeds for cultivation; e) yeast for foodstuffs or feed; f) salt for foodstuffs or feed; g) certain products closely related to agricultural products, including untreated cotton and wool, raw hide, untreated leather and beeswax. Article 2 makes Regulation (EU) 2018/848 of the European Parliament and of the Council on organic production and labelling of organic products applicable in Norway, and articles 3 and 4 makes other relevant EU legislation applicable. Businesses that intend to carry out activities covered by these regulations must apply to the Norwegian Food Safety Authority for approval. Further rules are laid down concerning registration, greenhouse farming, maximum number of livestock in farms, feed additivies, fees, etc.
