Regulation on organic production and labeling of organic agricultural products, aquaculture products, food and feed (Ecology Regulation).

This Regulation, based on the EEA Agreement, provides for the labeling or advertising of the products that refers to organic production and shall apply to any phase of production, processing, distribution, sales and imports from outside the country EEA area of agricultural and aquaculture products (whether living or processed products). It shall not apply to products that originate from hunting or fishing. The Regulation lists other (EU) legislation that shall apply, in particular Council Regulation 834/2007. Producers shall be registered in accordance with Commission Regulation 889/2008 and shall use in the production registered organic materials (with certain exceptions) as prescribed. Specific rules are defined for the maximum number of animals that may be kept on land and the manufacture of animal feed.
