Abstract
Fishing in the economic zone and fishing zone between 12 and 200 natucal miles from Jan Mayen is prohibited for Icelandic vessels. Exception is made however for fishing in the economic zone north of 62 N (between 12 and 200 nautical miles from the coast) for a total allowable catch of cod (6 835 tons) and 2 051 tons of other species as bycatch. A 15% of bycatch of Sebastes Marinus and Sebastes Mentella is authorized during fishing in the economic zone with a maximum bycatch of 12% for each catch. It is not permitted to fish with meshed trawl when fishing for silver smelt and Micromesistius Poutassou, with the exception of specific areas (article 5). Failure of compliance with this Regulation shall be punishible in accordance to articles 8 and 9 of Act No. 91.
