Abstract
It is prohibited for Norwegian vessels fishing and land silver smelt in 2015. However, each vessel is allocated trawl fishing permit of this species in adherence to Concession Regulation, and may fish up to 12 000 tons in the Norwegian Economic Zone. The fishing activity season commences on 16 February 2015. Each vessel is allocated trawling permit for a quota of 365 tons of silver smelt with a maximum allowable catch of 500 tons. Vessels without such permit are allowed to a maximum of 10% bycatch of the species. No transfer between vessels is permitted, and landing caught by other vessels are not authorized. Of the total quota of 300 tons of silver smelt, 20 tons shall be allocated for research purposes.
