Abstract
It is prohibited to Faroese fishing vessels to fish in the economic zone and the fishery zone around Jan Mayen between 12 and 200 nautical miles from the coast. It is however permitted to fish limited quotas in the Norwegian economic zone north of 62 degrees for cod (total allowable catch 2 000 tons), for Norwegian Arctic haddock (400 tons), saithe (300 tons) and other species including redfish (100 tons) and Greenland halibut as by-catch. In the Russian economic zone a total allowable catch is permitted for cod (10 000 tons), haddock (900 tons) and other species including haddock, pollock and halibut as bycatch (200 tons). For fishery of other species, a 20% of by-catch is permitted. Blue whiting in the Norwegian economic zone and around Jan Mayen is permitted to Faroese vessels for a max. of 22 090 tons. The Reguation bans fishing with meshed trawls and fishing for blue whiting with small-meshed trawls in determined coordinates listed under article 8.
