Owners of an establishment must apply to the Ministry and enclose an environmental impact study prepared by a consulting office approved by the Sultanate (art. 3). An Environmental Audit is required by certain establishments (as specified in the attached Annex) by specialized companies approved by the Sultanate according to the requirements of the ISO 14000 series for environmental management systems, every two years after receiving their final environmental permits (art. 7).
