Abstract
The present Act, which is composed of 30 articles, establishes the principles and requirements governing the protection, breeding and fishing in surface inland waters, in waters from water devices and in facilities intended for fish breeding. Breeding includes activities carried out for purposes of conservation and increasing fish production, as well as selection to preserve and improve fish quality. The principles also apply to crayfish, lamprey and other organisms living in water. The permission of the Minister of Agriculture and Rural Development is required to introduce new fish species into Polish waters. Art. 4 establishes organs authorized to carry out breeding activities. Art. 8 specifies the equipment and methods which may not be used for fishing.
