Abstract
This Regulation of the Minister of Agriculture and Rural Development, which is composed of 21 paragraphs, is related to cases of African swine fever on the territories specified in part I point 4 of the Annex to Commission Implementing Decision 2014/709/EU concerning animal health control measures relating to African swine fever in certain Member States and repealing Implementing Decision 2014/178/EU. The present Regulation lays down protective measures to be applied for the control of African swine fever on these territories. In particular it orders to: (1) keep pigs on a farm in the way which avoids contact with free-living boars; (2) draw up the inventory of owned pigs; (3) feed pigs with feed protected from free-living animals; (4) use disinfection mats in driveways and entrances to holdings where pigs are kept; (5) apply hygiene measures necessary to reduce the risk of spread of African swine fever, including disinfecting of hands and shoes; (6) clean and disinfect tools and equipment used for the handling of pigs; (7) use protective clothing and safety footwear by persons performing activities related to handling of pigs; (8) keep the register of means of transport for transporting pigs entering the farm and the register of persons entering premises where the pigs are kept.
