Abstract
This Regulation of the Minister of Agriculture and Rural Development, which is composed of 19 articles, is related to cases of African swine fever on the territory of Poland. The present Regulation lays down protective measures: (a) keeping pigs in separate, closed rooms; (b) securing the building where the pigs are kept against free-living and domestic animals; (c) the lining of disinfection mats in front of the entrances to premises where pigs are kept; (d) feeding pigs with feed that is secure against free-living and domestic animals; (e) keeping a register of the means of transport for the transport of pigs, feed or animal by-products entering the farm; (f) making an inventory of the pigs owned; (g) carrying out activities related to the handling of pigs only by persons who carry out these activities only; (h) application of hygiene measures necessary to reduce the risk of spreading African swine fever, including washing and disinfecting hands and cleaning and disinfecting shoes; (i) use of protective clothing and footwear intended only for the performance of these activities; (j) ongoing cleaning and disinfection of tools and equipment used for pigs; (k) preventing bystanders from entering buildings where pigs are kept; (l) implementation of a rodent monitoring and control program.
