Abstract
The present Decree-Law establishes the legal regime for the exploitation and conservation of hunting resources. It defines all requirements for hunting activity, specifying: hunter's rights and obligations, hunting licence (medical and administrative requirements, foreign hunter's licence, etc.); prohibited hunting zones; hunting seasons for each animal species; authorized hunting techniques and gear, etc. Chapter 8 deals with hunting zones (national, and associations' hunting zones); granting of hunting zone permit (procedures and requirements); suspension and abrogation of permits, etc. This Decree-Law also regulates: hunting zones for training (only for animals in captivity); transport, trade and displaying for sale of dead animals; import and export sanitary procedures; protected zones, etc. Article 129 lays down competencies and duties of the National Council of Hunting and Fauna Conservation (under the supervision of the Ministry of Agriculture, Rural Development and Fisheries). A list of species which may be hunted is contained in the annex.
