Abstract
This Decree-Law updates protective measures against the introduction of organisms harmful to plants or plant products within national or EC countiries (including protected areas). It consists of 4 Parts (33 articles) and 7 annexes establishing new standards and sanitary requirements to be met in order to perform the said activity. Ministerial authorities responsible for carrying out sanitary controls and sanctions to be applied for illegal activity, harvests, or keeping of plant products are specified in the text. General provisions (Part 1); Production, circulation and importation of plant and plant products within national and EC countries (2); Exportation or re-exportation of plant or plant products (3); Final provisions (4). Annexes list harmful organisms; prohibited organisms and plants; specific requirements and sanitary conditions to be met by imported/exported plants; protected zones; model forms.
