Abstract
This Decree-Law is composed of 32 articles, divided into 10 Chapters. It establishes measures and actions to be implemented within the National System of Forest Fires Prevention and Protection. In particular, it rules on: the National Plan for Forest Fires Prevention and Protection; zoning procedures and areas; access limits; preventive measures; monitoring activities. Finally, the Decree-Law indicates and regulates the monitoring authorities.

This Decree-Law repeals: Decree No. 67/85 of 22 October 1985, Decree No. 36/88 of 17 October 1988, Decree-Law No. 334/90 of 29 October 1990. It also emends articles 39 and 40 of the Decree-Law No. 310/2002 of 18 December 2002.
