Abstract
This Decree-Law regulates potato seed production, certification, control and trade according to EC Council Directives No. 98/95 and No. 98/96/CE of 14 December. It consists of 5 chapters and 3 annexes establishing the requirements to be met in order to perform the aforementioned activities. It establishes production requirements (including production areas), control and certification standards and trade conditions. The Ministry of Agriculture, shall be the competent authority for carrying out controls on potato seed and issue a certificate. Annexes specify areas for potato production, potato planting material quality standards, labelling for certification, etc.
