Abstract
This Decree-Law, composed of 5 articles and 1 Annex, transposes into the National legal system the EU Council Directive No. 2002/57 of 13 July 2002 on the commercialization of oil seeds and fibrous seeds. It implements the Decree-Law No. 75/2002 of 26 March 2002 approving the annexed Technical Regulation on Production and Commercialization of Oilseeds and Fibrous Plant Seeds. This Annex, composed of 23 articles, applies to oil and fibrous seed species grown primarily for agricultural production, thus excluding the utilization for ornamental purposes. It defines and classifies the seeds admitted for certification, regulates the production permits, the propagation fields’ control, the wrapping and labelling, the certification and commercialization procedures.
