Abstract
This Decree-Law, composed of 6 articles, institutes the Permanent Forestry Fund, an autonomous body, created complementarily with the Institute for Financing and Supporting the Agriculture and Fisheries Development (IFADAP). It sets the objectives of the Fund, as, for instance: promoting the investment, management and prevention of forest fires; supporting the preventive measures of forest fires; creating financial mechanisms for enabling sustainable forestry models. The Ministry for Agriculture, Rural Development and Fisheries shall approve the programme of financial aid to be grated by the Fund. Finally, the Decree indicates the various possible aid foreseen (subsidies, credit lines, insurance premiums and guarantees) and the areas covered by the Fund.
