Law No. 8/85 on Wine Denomination Regions.

This Law is composed of 17 articles. It provides a legal framework for all Portuguese Wine Denomination Regions. In particular, it rules on the institution of such regions and on their Statute. Moreover, it foresees the establishment, in each Region, of a Committee for Regional wine and defines its composition and functions. Particular attention is paid to wine services, such as, for instance, laboratories and oenological explorations.
