The continuous monitoring system is applicable to ships with an overall length referred to in paragraph 2 of article 9 of the mentioned EC Council Regulation. The tracking system referred to in paragraph 1 is intended for scientific purposes to monitor fishing effort, applying to the entire fleet licensed for dredge fishing, and the respective data may be used for control and inspection purposes, and must be transmitted daily to the Fishing Control and Surveillance Centre.
