Abstract
This Law creates a legal framework to expand the use of renewable energy by: the inclusion of renewable energy resources in the national energy balance, to increase the security of energy supply and reduce imports of primary energy resources; offering a stimulus to sustainable development at local and regional levels and creating new jobs related to the use of renewable energy; reducing the environment pollution by decreasing the production of polluting emissions and greenhouse gases; etc.
The Law provides for: the system to promote the production of electricity from renewable energy sources; trade of green certificates; achievement of mandatory quotas by the suppliers; duties of the competent Ministry; trading electricity produced from renewable energy sources; monitoring and reporting the development and the operation of the green certificates market; etc.
