Abstract
This Law regulates basic conditions (administrative, technical and procedural) and manner for the conduction of trade and trading activities on the market of the Republic of Serbia, including issues on the necessary promotion of trade and protection of the unique market, prohibition of unfair market competition, and supervision (Chapter V) and penalties (Chapter VI).
Main principles promoted in this text are as follows: free trade principle; the principle of equality and non-discrimination; single market principle; the principle of honesty; the principle of stability and supply; the principle of proportionality.
Agricultural and food products may be sold on personal basis if they meet the requirements laid down in dedicated regulations (see article 15); article 22 sets the definition of market place and includes agricultural products, food and beverages. For issue son wholesale market, including the display and sale of fruits, vegetables and other agricultural and food products, other consumer goods see article 23.
