Ministerial Decree No. 401 validating the Regulation on Federal Ecological, Technological and Nuclear Supervision Service.

This Ministerial Decree establishes that Federal Medical and Biological Agency shall be federal executive body exercising control and supervision the sphere of environmental protection and, more specifically, related to restriction of negative technogenic impact, including management of industrial and consumer waste, protection of subsoil, safe use of nuclear energy, safety of waterworks and safe storage of explosives. The Agency shall carry out the following functions: (a) supervision of compliance with licensing terms and conditions in the sphere of nuclear energy; (b) supervision over radiation safety at nuclear sites; (c) supervision over subsoil management; and (d) state ecological supervision; (e) licensing of management, storage, transportation and disposal of radioactive substances and radioactive waste.
