Ministerial Decree No. 716 validating the Regulation of the state control over the use and protection of water bodies.

The Regulation establishes the modalities of the application of the state control over the use and protection of water bodies. The Regulation applies to surface water bodies including internal sea and territorial sea and establishes the limits of water abstraction for each single water body and purposeful water use. The purpose of the state control is to enforce the fulfilment of the legal proceedings in the field of water uses by juridical and physical persons. The regional administrations and the Ministry of Natural Resources are entitled to exercise the state control over the use and protection of water basins. This Decree introduces the post of State Inspector for the control of the use and protection of water basins.
