Abstract
This Ministerial Decree establishes the modalities of mandatory state registration of genetically modified organisms destined for release into environment, and also produce obtained from or containing such organisms. The following categories shall not be subject to state registration: (a) GMO used for performing expertise and scientific research activity in conformity with the established sanitary requirements; and (b) produce obtained as a result of combination, processing or recycling of already registered produce containing GMO if such processing and recycling shall not entail modification of genetic material of the produce. The following institutions shall perform state registration of GMO: (a) Federal Consumer Protection Supervision Service for foodstuffs and alimentary raw materials; and (b) Federal Veterinary and Phytosanitary Supervision Service for plants and animals destined for breeding, GMO used for animal feedstuffs and feed additives.
