This Ministerial Decree stipulates that, for the purpose of maintaining water quality standards, maximum concentrations of chemicals, microorganisms and radioactive substances in water shall be established and validated by the authorized Federal institutions and supported by a favourable expert opinion from the state environmental audit service.
