Abstract
This Official Letter is a protocol of the governmental meeting regarding the analysis of the state of affairs in the fishing industry. The normative legal basis of the fishing industry, that regulates the relationship in the field of conservation and rational use of aquatic biodiversity, consists of normative acts and Federal Laws, Presidential Decrees and Orders, Ministerial Decrees and Orders, and normative acts of the Federal Fisheries Committee. Some legislative acts of the Council of Ministers of the USSR, some Laws of the RSFSR, some normative acts of the former Fisheries Ministry of the USSR and of the Russian Ministry of Agriculture and Food. The Federal Fisheries Committee has set up on the 11th of May 1999 a special commission entitled to improve the legal basis of the fishing industry. This Commission is entitled to renew the normative legal basis of the fishing industry and to conform it to the legislation currently in force.
