Order No. 512 of the Ministry of Natural Resources and Ecology validating Hunting Regulations.

This Order establishes Hunting Regulations related to hunting and conservation of hunting resources on the whole territory of the Russian Federation. It shall not be applicable to captive breeding. In the process of hunting the hunter must: (a) comply with this Hunting Regulations; (b) be in possession of hunting permit and authorization for the use of firearms; (c) in case of hunting with hunting birds authorization for keeping and captive breeding thereof; and (d) comply with the established norms of game authorized for hunting. This Order establishes rights for individual hunters, collective hunters and traditional hunters. It establishes that illegal game, means of transport and hunting gear used for hunting thereof shall be subject to confiscation. Hunting and capture of wild animals authorized for hunting shall be carried out by methods preventing cruelty to animals. It also imposes hunting restrictions and establishes prohibited hunting seasons. Annexes 1-3 contain the list of authorized hunting periods and the list of species subject to hunting.
