Order No. 477 of the Ministry of Natural Resources and Ecology validating Hunting Regulation.

Hunting Regulation establishes rules and requirements for hunting and conservation of hunting resources (game). It shall be applicable to use and protection of wild fauna species kept in captivity and located on property of legal persons, individual entrepreneurs and natural persons in accordance with the legislation of the Russian Federation. Hunting shall be considered activities related to search, tracking, pursuit of hunting resources (game), procurement thereof, primary processing and transportation. In the process of hunting natural persons must comply with the following requirements: (a) parameters of hunting; (b) carry hunting permit, firearm permit, permit for other hunting gear; and (c) perform hunting in authorized hunting grounds and in authorized hunting periods. Requirements for hunting of hoofed animals, and also bears, establish that injured animal shall be pursued and killed. It shall be prohibited, in the process of hunting fur-bearing animals, destruction and excavation of permanent brood shelters of fur-bearing animals, destruction of burrows and other brood shelters of wolves and jackals and removing puppies therefrom, partial destruction of beaver dams, muskrat huts and burrows for installation of self-traps; and partial excavation of badger, fox, raccoon dog burrows for assistance to hunting dogs used for pursuing game in the burrow. Regulation of the number of hunting resources is carried out in order to maintain the number of game animals, prevent the occurrence and spread of diseases of hunting resources (game), damage to the health of citizens, wild fauna species and habitats thereof.
