Abstract
According to the 2020 All-Russian Population Census the regional territory was inhabited by 21,456 people from among the small indigenous peoples, which is 1.7 percent of the total number of the regional population. In order to further implement the sustainable development of small indigenous peoples living in the region, it is necessary to solve the following tasks: (a) promoting the preservation and development of the original culture and spiritual values of small indigenous peoples, including the preservation and development of the native languages of small indigenous peoples living in the region; (b) determination of forms of interaction and social partnership between government bodies, local government bodies of municipalities of the region, associations of indigenous peoples, industrial companies when carrying out economic activities in places of traditional residence and traditional economic activities of small indigenous peoples, including the areas in the territories of traditional environmental management of small indigenous peoples; (c) support for associations of small indigenous peoples in order to protect their ancestral habitat, traditional way of life, economic activities, crafts, preservation and development of unique culture and spiritual values, including the preservation and development of the native languages of small indigenous peoples living in the region; (d) further ensuring social protection of certain categories of citizens belonging to small indigenous small peoples, in accordance with the regional legislation; (e) creation of social and economic conditions for the life of the population in places of residence, including the necessary social infrastructure in settlements - places of traditional residence and traditional economic activity of small indigenous peoples (including territories of compact residence of small indigenous peoples); (f) improvement of the regulatory legal framework in the field of protection of rights and other issues affecting the interests of small indigenous peoples; and (g) developing the potential of young people of small indigenous peoples.
