Abstract
This Law consisting of 22 articles divided in V Chapters provides for overseeing the grazing land and public forests and their living and non-living contents, together with regulating their exploitation, development and preservation. The Ministry of Agriculture is responsible for the protection of the public land and the new Law is more focused on the preservation and improvement of the ground, in particular as regards the pastures. Article 10 states that the Ministry decides on the mode and the periods of pastoralism according to the pastoral capacity of the soils and establishes programs of redevelopment and cultivation of grasslands. It is necessary to obtain a license from the Ministry to utilize public forests and to transfer their products or to establish touristic activities. The Law specifies also the prohibited activities, in particular the forbidden activities in the forests, such as cutting, eradication, burning (art.13) and the areas where grazing is not permitted (art.14). The V Chapters of the Law are entitled as follows: General provisions (I); Preservation and Development of Grasslands and Forests (II); Exploitation (III); Prohibitions (IV); and Sanctions (V).
