Abstract
These Regulations implement provisions of the Shipping Act 1998 as to marine inquiries and investigations to be conducted by a Board of marine inquiry appointed under section 86 of the Act in accordance with the Code of the International Standards and Recommended Practices for a Safety Investigation into a Marine Casualty or Marine Incident as adopted and amended from time to time by the IMO. "ISM Code" includes any safety management procedure applying under the International Management Code for the Safe Operation of Ships and for Pollution Prevention. The Regulations set out general principles to be applied to an investigation and sets out the procedures of (preliminary) investigations and proceedings of a Marine Board inquiry. The Regulations also concern international cooperation and define offences.
