Act relative to testing and sampling of animals and related matters (2006:806).

This Act concerns the taking of tests and samples on animals for purposes of control and monitoring of animal diseases, the presence of residues in animals and animal products and other reasons of protection of animal or public health. The Act shall complete provisions of basic EC legislation in this field.
The Act grants ample regulation-making powers in this field to the Government or an authority to be indicated by the Government. The regulation-making powers cover an extensive range of matters such as measures to fight animal diseases, registration of treatment of animals with drugs, hygiene in the handling of animals, control of products deriving from animals, marking and registration of animals, etc.
