Abstract
This Regulation sets out official control food sampling procedures and analytical methods, including the manner for preparation of such samples, for the determination of lead, cadmium, mercury and 3-MCPD content or presence in food. 3-MCPD (3-monochloropropane-1,2-diol or 3-chloropropane-1,2-diol) is an organic chemical compound which is the most common member of chemical food contaminants known as chloropropanols.
The above mentioned sampling procedures must comply with the requirements set out in Annex 1. Analytical methods must comply with the requirements set out in Annex 2.
